More than a simple arithmetic or counting test, it asks questions about transactions in which cashiers, and others who must handle money as part of their jobs, will be involved every day. Even when they have equipment that tells how much change to give a customer, cashiers must be able to remove the correct combination of coins and currency from the cash drawer quickly and count it back to the customer correctly.
